Race info

Travelling through the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains, the Banff Jasper Relay is the most beautiful relay in the world.

The relay runs north on the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) with two phases divided into 15 stages. The south phase covers six stages and starts at the Castle Junction.  The north phase starts at Norman Creek and covers nine stages.

All stages have forced starts to ensure all runners complete their stage in daylight and allow time for all participants and volunteers to arrive safely at the Saturday evening festivities in the Town of Jasper.

This format enables the race to respect environmental and safety concerns identified by the race organizers, Parks Canada, and the RCMP during past races and similar events.
